Peggy + Leland – Kona, Hawaii

Recently, I was in Kona, Hawaii –
I was able to shoot a roll of 35mm black and white film of our dear friends Peggy and Leland.

Peggy works for Alaska Airlines in our Kona station.

She is always smiling and spreading Aloha when the planes come in from the mainland.

Nappy (my husband) has been friends with her and her husband Leland for sometime now –
And when we took our annual vacation with the kids to Kona last September,  they were so kind and loaned us their car for the week – this, my friends is the meaning of Aloha.

To give from your heart and spread the kindness of the islands.

So, after our week there in Kona, I thought to myself, “what in the world could I do for Peggy and Leland that would show them MY appreciation?”

Ah-ha! Photograph them together in their beautiful town!

My 2nd thought was “AND in black and white film, true HAWAIIANA NOSTALGIA!”

We went to the “End of the World” for our shoot – I adore them, and I adore these photos.
