My Best of 2012 – Pure 35mm Film

Ahhh

This was THE year of shooting 35mm film for me !

I decided in ’11 that ’12 would be IT – THE year I dust off my old gear, buy some new stuff and shoot every week, rain or shine, nothing will stop me.

Proud to say, I DID IT!

Someone once told me  “LIFE, that is your best education.”  – So true for me, personally.

The feeling it gives me is indescribable, the magic of charting your course carefully for your 36 images, studying light and people, learning the settings, using a light meter, waiting for the exact moment to shoot – and the waiting… oh the painful waiting for the images to be developed…but it’s pure magic, every single time !

It gave me peace in a chaotic life – it’s my treat to myself.

I used many different 35mm film stocks in my need to learn how they look in different settings and light;

Kodak Portra 400
Kodak Gold 200
Kodak Tri-X b+w 100
Kodak BWCN 400
Kodak Ultramax 400

Lomography color slide film

Fuji PROH 400
Fuji Superia 400

Ilford HP5 b+w 400
Ilford Delta b+w 400

Please share this blog with anyone who may be interested in a 35mm film photo session !

I’m excited to do this for my clients !

Let’s go shooting in 2013 !

  3. These are great! It’s so awesome to see so many photographers going back to film lately!!! You should definitely give Kodak Portra 160 and 800 a try! 160 has amazing skin tones and 800, while grainy, has amazing color as well!
