My Best of 2016; Pure 35mm FILM

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to 2017 !

This blog post is my personal tradition. (Since 2012)

I gather up some of my favorite pure 35mm film images shot from the year.

They aren’t perfect, but they are special and meaningful in some sort of way.

This year was a quiet one. However, some personal parameters were shattered in our family, and that’s pretty incredible!

I flew alot of the same routes I typically do.
Hawaii
East Coast cities
California cities

But!
The highlights of 2016:

Keanu joined his middle school Track Team. And thus, we had to join it with him!
I never ran track in school, it was totally a new experience for me! And, boy did the energy in our home change!
We all had to stick to attending practice. I was learning and teaching Keanu all new concepts. In his own way, he learned, and it was pure magic. The kids we met have changed our lives as well. It began slightly awkward. By the end of the season, we bonded for life with a few of these incredible kids. This was all new to Jasmine as well. She wasn’t quite with it to start, but as time went on, she became Keanu’s biggest cheerleader. It mattered not if he qualified. His infectious smile and willingness to try was nothing short of amazing. Sometimes you just have to try, and if you fail, at least you know your mind and heart were open. That, is a gift.

At work, I was offered the INCREDIBLE opportunity to shoot the final retirement flight of Capt. Mike Swanigan. I was thrilled! I geared up, and donned my oldest flight attendant uniform. SO FUN! I was allowed access to the tarmac to shoot as the plane was marshaled in. To my surprise, up walks Seattle Seahawks’ quarterback RUSSELL WILSON. Pinch me! Is this really happening!? Nappy was watching Russell’s’ Facebook live page and texted me “Uhm, I can see you RIGHT NOW!” Haha! Technology! So, as the local news station cameramen and other Company personnel invaded the scene, I was lucky that I know the ins/outs of an airplane. Plus, I am short! I ducked and pushed my way into the cockpit and shot INCREDIBLE images of Capt. Swani and Russell !

Just to witness the seasons change in Tacoma, Wa is so special to me.
The cherry blossoms, the Tulips at Mount Vernon WA, the falling leaves in autumn, the snow at Mount Rainier…….

The images you see here are random faves from my film cameras, which are various and typically loaded with only expired 35mm film.
ENJOY!

Thank you for being in my life and allowing me to be inspired by you.

Cheers to another year, 2017 !
